Swimming

We took Preston swimming for the first time last week. I was worried about how he would do, he has been so clingy to me and scared of everything, it seems. But I was pleasantly surprised! I have never been one to just jump in so I took him in slowly with me and he was fine. We put him in a little floaty boat and pulled him around with us. A couple times he reached for us, trying to get out or get closer to us, but not often. He seemed to have a good time watching Jack and Hallie and Lilly swim. It was nice to have Bradley and I both there, so we could trade off and get a little swimming of our own in.

I got to take Preston back a couple days ago by myself and he was a little hesitant to get in but once we were in he was fine. I think he would be happy to just play with a couple toys on the steps by himself, if I would let him. But he is braver than he is water smart, if you know what I mean.

I hope we can go often enough each summer that he stays comfortable in the water. I think he may swim early and well, if we get to swim enough.
