Catch-up

So, I realize I don't blog very often. Bad me. I'm sorry. I just don't feel like my life is very interesting or that I have much to say. I but I should at least say something, right? So how about a catch up on my life post? Okay!

For those of you who didn't know, I am pregnant. If you didn't know, we must not be close in real life, or facebook friends or you must not have read past the last couple of my blog posts. Anyway. I am 19 weeks right now. We will have an ultrasound on the 29th and hopefully get to find out what we are having. We are hoping for a girl. I'll let ya know.

Preston is doing well. He is almost 2 1/2 and is busy and fun. He is generally a happy, good kid. He has his moments, for sure. What kid doesn't? But for the most part, he is willing to obey and just wants to help and be included in things. I hope I can use this to my advantage when the baby is born. I have a feeling, though, I will have to be careful to make sure I spend enough time with him after the baby is born, too. If anyone has suggestions on how to make time for him while not neglecting a newborn at the same time, bring em' on.

Preston surprises us with how much he is learning. He loves to "read" books and has known his abc's for at least 6 months, if not closer to a year. I mean, if you show him a letter, he will tell you what it is. Same with numbers 0-10. He regularly counts to 12 (random, eh?) and loves to sing the abc song now. It's pretty cute. I will have to post a video of it. I am kind of trying to teach him his colors but we are not stressing about it. Preston seems to have a good memory and is learning new things every day. Like how to get into the fridge. I need to start using that fridge lock, I guess.

Bradley is doing well with work. He is still a trainer for Teleperformance, training tech support agents. He likes it. We are big Apple/Mac fans around here. Bradley has had the opportunity to travel to other sites to do some training, too. Just Utah so far. Which has been nice because it's not too far away for a weekend trip. Where we discovered how much Preston likes to swim. Oh that kid! Once he saw the other kids in the pool at the hotel jumping in, he had to do it! And not with us holding him, no! He pushed our hands away and jumped in! It was tricky to catch him! I hope we get to do a lot more swimming this summer. Anyway. Back to Bradley. He loves to keep up with tech blogs and all the latest gadgets. We have even gotten to play with the new iPad and really like it. If only they weren't so expensive!

Me? Well, I stay at home with Preston most days. Some days I HAVE to get out of the house so we go to the store or visit my parents (Preston love his grandparents!) or just go for a walk, now that it's nice outside. I have been sick recently so we have watched a lot of Sesame Street and stuff but we have managed. I am teaching the eight year old kids in Primary and really liking it. I have a super team teacher. And I just got called to the Relief Society board, working with another awesome gal in crafts so that should be fun. I am also in charge of a playgroup in our ward. That has been fun, too. I really love the girls in our ward.

So that's kind of my life. Taking care of my family, trying to get better about making dinner (I am not as much of a fan of cooking as I thought I was) and keeping the house put together. I don't do the best job but I try. I wish I had more energy. More creativity. I would like to get more crafting done. But it's very sporadic right now. I have lots of projects I want to do but have a feeling I will end up doing more "have to do" things instead. Like cleaning out the extra bedroom so we can actually put a kiddo in there in a few months. So wish me luck. And please, drop me a line to let me know you are out there. I'd love to hear from you!

Hugs and smiles,
Kathryn

Thanks for the update Kathryn! It's fun to hear what's going on with you guys since we're not close. It's too bad, cause it would be fun to get the kids together for a play date. Aislyn also knows her abc's and numbers, and will randomly count to "teen" (thirteen). :) She and Preston have a lot in common! If you're ever in Utah and have a minute we'd love to have you stop by!
