Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie!
So Preston is at that stage when he wants whatever we have. Especially when it comes to food. I have held off giving him table food. I am trying to do things "right" and start with baby cereal, then veggies and then fruits. I want to give him a good foundation so hopefully he does not end up as picky as me. This has driven my dad crazy, he wants to give him all sorts of food. I try to tell him, no, I'm the mom, I decide. It has mostly worked. Anyway.
I love to make broiler toast with hamburger buns. Mmm, so good. Preston sees me eating them and reaches, mouth open. So I tried to give him a little taste. Little stinker, he wants the whole bun, not just a nibble.
We gave him baby cereal for the first time last week and I have been giving him some every few days, trying to get him used to it. That first time, man, we were laughing at his faces! It was too funny! He took the spoon no problem but once the food hit his mouth he screwed up his face all wacky like it tasted all gross. And well, it was not great when made with formula. Baby cereal with mommy milk is better. He thinks so, too.
I also got some of those little puffy finger food stars that Gerber makes, the kind that dissolve really fast. He likes those. Again, he makes a really funny face at first but then he gumms the thing around some and swallows and wants another. Thanks to my sis in law Laura for teaching me that those little things help him to learn to swallow better than just giving him cereal. Anyway.
I had to include this picture. I got a chocolate milkshake from Arctic Circle and man, Preston wanted that baby. The way he reached for it was so cute! I hope he keeps that up with all foods. Even the spherical ones. And beans.
