Always Improving

What is it about kids and always trying to one up themselves? To do things just a little bit better? To out-do what they have done before? And I don't mean that in a good way!

I thought Preston had shown all there was to be shown in the diaper blow out category. I mean, when the stuff leaks out the leg and up the back, you gotta admit, it's kind of impressive. And even better when he always manages to do it at my parents house. My dad is convinced that I have no idea how to put a diaper on my kid.

Well, the other day Preston really out did himself. I have never seen so much poop in a baby's diaper in my life. It was amazing. He was sitting in his little booster high chair next to me and I heard him do it. But I have learned from experience that he is never done with just the first deposit. So I let him finish before I picked him up. As I lifted him out of his seat I was surprised to see poo in the chair. That means it leaked out a leg and then through the cute pair of jeans he was wearing. Not thin jeans, either. So at least I was warned as to how to carry him to his room. I started stripping him down and my mouth hung open in shock as to how much was everywhere. It was leaking out both legs and all up his back. Darn kid! I really like that shirt, it better come out! I had planned on giving him a bath that night but no, he wanted one right then!

And the whole time he is just smiling and laughing, telling me how awesome he is. Just pleased as punch at his pooping skills. Yeah, good job, kiddo. You really out did yourself that time. Next time, just keep it in the diaper! Gosh!
