There was a computer rave in my living room the other night.
Seriously. All the computers were having a party. One we did not give permission for. And they were going for hours. Darn things.
Preston still wakes up a time or two each night so I take him out to the living room to snuggle. I sat down in the dark and was greeted by a rave! There were lights everywhere!
Do you own a mac computer? We have several in the house. A couple are ours and some are on loan from Bradley's work. Macs have this silly way of letting you know they are there but "sleeping." There is a little light on the front that gets brighter then dim. Bright then dim. Like it's breathing. Cute, huh? Well, when they are all doing it at once, it's crazy! Let me tell you about all the lights.
We have a mini mac in the entertainment center. It was doing it's light breathing thing. We also have an external hard drive there. It likes to pretend it's a mac and it's light comes on and off, too. There is another mini mac on a little desk in the living room. I couldn't see it's light from where I was sitting but I know it was there. Then there is the other external hard drive - a mac air port. It was angry because it was not hooked up to internet at the time so it flashed orange. Then there is a MacBook that Bradley has borrowed from work. Yup, breathing light. But what really did it that night was the MacBook Pro that is Bradley's work computer. Usually it's in his bag but he left it out that night. On the desk by the angry orange light. The light on that sucker is soo bright! I swear, it lit up the whole room! Bright, dim. Bright, dim. Bright, dim. Even Preston noticed. (Bradley told me later that Apple actually had a recall of sorts on those computers because people were so bothered by how bright the light was. I don't doubt it!)
So all these computers were thinking that they could just have a party and rave all night long while we slept. But they got caught! Twice that night, in fact. Darn hoodlums. They all got grounded in the morning.
So watch your computers! If you have to get up in the middle of the night to use the privy you might want to take a peep in on your electronics. I'm just lucky the stereo didn't get in on this party. (Right now it keeps flashing all it's pretty lights at me, begging me to just push play but it needs to learn who is in charge, too!) If it had tried anything that night they all would have been unplugged! Whew!
